Awkwafina An American singer and actress began by releasing a humorous rap track which dealt with the subject of race and sexuality. Her fame grew into Hollywood when she dropped an album of raps. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was in the form of the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop education began when she was a teenager. While in college, she concentrated on her studies, and then majored both in women's study as well as journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. However, it wasn't until she graduated when she decided to turn her attention towards music. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The other viral hit songs included Queef song and the winking NYC Bitchecity tour. The latter track connected directly with another Awkwafina project NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Alongside being a published author as well, she also worked as a performer. She's appeared in movies such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several high profile films, including Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
